Double Helix Tracking Technologies is headquartered in Singapore, at the centre of some of the world’s most threatened tropical forests.

As a leading scientific research centre, Singapore is also the ideal location to develop DNA-based timber verification technologies.

In 2005, work first started to develop scientific methods to track timber through complex supply chains. We have now established a collaborative network of genetic scientists from Singapore, Australia, China, Europe and the United States to help develop our solutions.

In 2007, we were the first company world-wide to launch a working commercial DNA timber tracking solution, used to verify the Chain-of-Custody of wood products harvested in Indonesia and exported to Australia, Europe and the United States. Learn more.

To date we have focused on the verification of merbau (intsia spp.), a high-value species subject to extensive illegal-logging across its natural range. Our next step is to apply our scientific and operational knowledge to other threatened, high-profile species in Asia, Africa, Russia and Latin America, supporting Certification Systems and illegal-logging legislation as it is introduced around the world.
